A unique opportunity to view the colourful work of three Blewbury-based artists, Charlotte Houlihan (painting), Yvette Phillips (textiles), Eleanor Wong (painting).
Three artists, raised in the village of Blewbury, who enjoyed diverse creative careers, come together to continue the long arts and crafts tradition of Blewbury, and explore concepts that are close to their hearts.

Myself and two other Blewbury artists are very excited to be exhibiting for the first time this year. We look forward to welcoming you to our light-filled and contemporary exhibition space at the Blewbury Clubhouse, which has ample parking, and is less than a minute’s walk from Savages Farm Shop and Tea Room.
I have drawn and painted for as long as I can remember. Following a degree in Furniture and Product Design I enjoyed a career in design, founding a luxury stationery brand (Chartula Studio) and creating illustrations and designs for print. Drawing, however, has always remained at the heart of my work and I continued to study art and life painting throughout this time. After the natural career break the birth of my two children (Daisy in 2010 and Hugo in 2012) offered, I decided to return to my roots in painting and drawing. My work is a collection of honest and thoughtful life studies. I work spontaneously from the model using the paints to find the figure and uncover their expression in a loose and reflective way. My paintings are immediate and instinctive with a bold use of colour and, I hope, a sensitive interpretation of body language - one of the reasons I always paint directly from the subject. This exhibition is a carefully selected collection of past and present studies and paintings of the human figure in its most raw and vulnerable form.
