Paintings and prints. Abstract landscapes, objects of interest and typographic prints.

I paint from the moment, from the heart. This gives me the freedom to let go of worry and paint without a brief. I approach making art as an experiment in mark making, colour mixing and expression. I paint sitting down and standing, with controlled movements and expressive movements. Painting can be like a dance on the page.

In contrast I love to print with wood and metal type which requires a more strategic approach. From planning what to say to setting the type to registering the paper and making the prints. I experiment with layering up colours and different type styles. Over the years I have built up a collection of type and presses including two small Adana presses, a proofing press and a flatbed relief press.

I love experimenting with bright colours in both my paintings and my prints.
