Hodgkinson graduated from Chelsea College of Art with a BA(Hons) Fine Art - as a mature student in 2012. Her degree show was a sell-out - she then went on to have 3 shows in New York - collectors in Tel Aviv - Sydney & Vienna - she was appointed artist in residence in Lincoln Cathedral in 2014-16 - this was during the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta and the appointment of the first woman Bishop - Libby Lane - Hodgkinson's work focuses on her deep rooted interest in the lack of culture of death in the Western World - by using organic materials she brings our awareness to the beauty of ageing and decay - she loathes the culture of extending life for the sake of it - a conversation she feels is constantly avoided - she is a passionate student of all things anthropological and relishes in the alchemical process of turning plant to pigment - she admits to spending much of her time watching paint dry
