Wendy makes kiln formed glass in her Oxford garden studio. Working with clear glass she uses metal leaf, foil and wire to ‘draw’ within the glass, leaving the heat of the kiln to work its magic and produce a rich palette of painterly colours within the glass.
Wendy’s glass encompasses wall hung pieces, freestanding panels and glass for the garden.
Her most recent work explores the depiction of miniature glass landscapes which are redolent of monochrome photographs or prints and have a tactile quality to them .
Wendy’s enduring love of the repeat pattern can be seen in her interpretation of mid century modern fabrics and designs which she develops into wall panels of different dimensions.
Microscopic organisms are enlarged in scale and translated into glass to reveal the beauty of their forms.
Leonie Bennett is also showing her delicate and distinctive jewellery at this venue
