I am constantly excited to see the colours and shapes that occur naturally in landscape and the environment which I recreate in my work.
Recently, since the world has taken a turn for the strange, I have started making large ephemeral dream like abstract acrylic paintings. The shapes and colours are reminiscent of landscapes, flowers, views, hidden spaces and forgotten vistas. I am finding that increasingly I am painting instinctively, colours and shapes flow with an energy of their own. I don’t start a piece with a fixed idea of what the final painting will look like, it evolves and appears on the canvas as I work. The marks made by my brush often form the shapes of abstracted flowers in front of water or skies. My website holds an archive of past paintings where you can find chalk pastel landscapes, and my other passion British wildlife. I have for years been fascinated by rendering the texture of fur and feathers. Archival quality prints can be made of any paintings to any size.
