I love being part of the age-old tradition of forming from earth and fire vessels for people to use. My favourite part of the making process is forming that great ball of clay on the wheel into a pleasing shape. The stoneware clay I use is very robust and high fired so the the pots are oven and dishwasher proof and can be used for many years. When it comes to glazing I gravitate toward a subdued, minimalist palette. People often comment on the peaceful almost Japanese feel of my pots.
Dianne Frank, a wonderful botanical artist, will be joining me again this year. There will be garden entry to this well-ventilated venue following Covid-secure guidelines. Please note, we will be opening on the third week of Artweeks starting on the 15th of May rather than during the planned City week in order to maximise chances for the public to be able to come and visit.
