The images that I am repeatedly drawn to are tree and stone related; texture and form are the challenges that I want to explore. Until last year, I have worked exclusively with linocuts, enjoying the simplifying of areas of tone, and building up a finished piece stage by stage. But more recently, I have been painting: the same subject, but relishing the opportunity of showing more nuanced form and detail. My collection of pieces is entitled 'Wood and Stone'. The continuous process of painting and building up the image gives great satisfaction, in contrast to the more interrupted process of creating a linocut print.
