I have been making botanical art for much of the past 20 years. I started working as a watercolourist but, after seeing botanical subjects rendered in pencil, I switched medium. Coloured pencil can be worked to a paint-like finish with the careful layering and blending of different colours and textures. Some refer to this technique as painting with pencils. Often the result is very similar to watercolours.
I will be exhibiting recent work, all original and all framed. Alternatively, most of my work is available to order as unframed Giclee prints.
This year I am joining my friend and master potter, Tam Frishberg (who will be open from the 15th).
Given the current situation, we will be following Covid-secure guidelines. There will be garden-entry to a well-ventilated gallery space, with numbers limited, hand sanitation available, and masks required. We will update these guidelines as needed. Although we are in Oxford, we have moved our exhibition to the later week in order to comply with the Government’s ‘roadmap’ guidelines.
