BLAM is the latest chapter in a long history of furniture making, a partnership between craftsmen Harry Williams and Josh Howard-Saunders. With over forty years' experience between us at the renowned Oxfordshire workshops of Bates and Lambourne, in 2020 we decided to restructure the business to allow us to focus more on the making of special one-off pieces, and less time doing paperwork. As BLAM we work predominantly with British-grown hardwoods, making free-standing domestic pieces, from chairs and tables to sideboards and bedroom furniture. Our work may also be seen in many local churches and several Oxford and Cambridge colleges. We make for the Bodleian Library, and we also built a fully functional replica of William Blake's printing press for the Ashmolean Museum. Whether in traditional furniture styles or more contemporary unique work, our focus is always on the detail, durability and quality of the finished pieces, as well as the inherent satisfaction in making.
