They called me ‘fiddly fingers’ from a young age. It took me decades to discover what this meant for me. I’m a maker. I like getting my hands dirty and manipulating all kinds of materials to make beautiful, intriguing things.
During those decades I learnt to use silver, glass, wool, silk and clay to meet my need to create, but only after I had finished my ‘real’ work. I took a decision in 2018 to make it the ‘real’ work and am now part-way through an Art Degree at Cardiff Met. ‘Artist, Designer, Maker’ is a 3D course that allows me to continue playing with ‘all the toys’.
My use of processes and materials is continually evolving. I’d like to be able to remain adaptable and fluid in my approach to producing work. My intention is to fulfil my own need to create, on a full-time basis, and to bring pleasure, or better still to spark joy.
