Wendy has lived and worked in Oxford since 1972. She taught Art/Art History in local schools for many years, retiring from The Cherwell School in 1999. Her fascination with paint and surfaces means she works into the paint to create textured glazes and strong areas of modulated colour. An identifiable image is distorted through reflection and modified perspective. In the Oxford paintings she uses reflections to explore a refreshing view of this well known city. Often colleges, bars and shops are juxtaposed in new combinations….derived from observation and reflections but often inconsistent with time and viewpoint. Her paintings are held in many private collections and her limited edition prints are very popular. She has exhibited at The University of Warwick and Oxford University’s Said Business School and in London at Art Fairs in Battersea, Alexandra Palace and Chelsea.
