I take inspiration from the local landscape, church interiors and my garden. I am a plein air painter whatever the weather and never work from photographs. I paint in oil and pastel on canvas up to 90 x 100 cm. When working outdoors I am challenged by the continual change of light and in particular the structure of trees. I paint regularly in St Mary the Virgin Church, Fairford, which is famous for its medieval stained glass windows, and where I have had to overcome the challenge of architectural perspective. I have opened my house for Artweeks for many years and look forward, as always, to welcoming returning and new visitors.
