'Ologies and 'Ographies' - so many subjects ending in one or the other! I chose this title for my 2020 exhibition because I like variety. My main influence is the natural world be it animals, plants or landscapes, but I do sometimes like to go 'off piste' as they say. So in amongst the trees (dendrology) birds (ornithology) and animals (zoology) you may find a felted dragon, or a painting of a gnome peaking from the door of a castle to represent mythology. My name is Jane Abbott. I'm an artist mainly painting in watercolour and I'm also a felt artist making woolly sculptures from the very small to life size. I use wet felting to create pictures, bags and hats and often use fleece from our own herd of alpacas. I teach felting at our farm in Swerford which is where my exhibition takes place. We're just a few minutes drive from Chipping Norton so do come and visit, you'll find a diverse and entertaining exhibition to look around and enjoy a free tea or coffee whilst viewing.
