Elaine Kazimierczuk chooses the natural world as an important focus for her painting, especially more intimate settings such as familiar meadows, hedgerows, orchards and gardens, generally favouring localities around Oxford. Her landscape paintings, though semi-abstract, are personal accounts of what she sees, based on a vocabulary of non-figurative shapes and gestures. Her aim is to represent the natural environment with all its intricate assembly of wild beauty. The scale of her canvases varies from intimate post-card sized studies to very large pieces which are equally effective in both domestic settings and business premises.
