Oxfordshire Chinese Brush Painting Group will be showcasing a range of Chinese Painting , one of the oldest and most beautiful of artistic traditions in the world. The work uses freshly ground black ink in various concentrations, in line and wash, sometimes incorporating vibrant colour from exquisite Chinese paint. Paintings are on special papers or on silk, as well as scrolls and fans. The work aims to captures the essence of objects, often in a few simplified, minimal and expressive strokes, with unpainted white areas allowing the painting to breathe and are as significant as painted ones. This year we are exhibiting with Village Arts in Appleton Village Hall where we will offer visitors the opportunity to not only view our range of work but also to try out the materials for themselves. We would love you to join us at our monthly meeting at Stanton Harcourt Village Hall and/or our full day Sunday workshops provided by Chinese Brush Artists of international renown.
