Lin is painting a series of landscapes in oils, exploring mood and atmosphere through cloudscapes, with paint marks made using brushes, fingers or a palette knife. She is using concepts of pixelation and colour, working from observation, sketches and photographs.
Originally from South Africa, Lin’s background is deeply embedded in fine arts, (she studied Fine Art at Wits University) and after a career in graphic design is now a full-time oil painter. She lives in Chilton and has fallen in love with the English countryside.
She teaches oil painting at Ardington School of Art and Craft and Oxford Summer School. This year she will be exhibiting alongside other artists at Ardington and visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the old school building and the work of some of Oxfordshires’ finest practitioners.
