I studied art at Alsager College of Art, Cheshire, and work in a variety of media.
My work usually has a reference to landscape or nature and regular visits to the North East continually inspires the need to put paint to canvas, driftwood and slate reflecting this area.
Now living in Oxfordshire, I enjoy the countryside and the sense of isolation. The influence of seasons on the contours, the light and the contrasting landscape is always a source of inspiration.
The coast provides atmosphere and inspiration with the moods of the sea and sky constantly changing. After a storm, I search the beaches for driftwood which has now added another dimension to my work.
I enjoy trying new techniques and recently have worked with different materials - reclaimed wood and aluminium - as a canvas.
