The land and seascape paintings exhibited in this exhibition are my unique perception of real places, transcribed through my own feelings, memories and the emotional response I experienced to being in that environment. All show recognisable forms to some degree or other but these paintings are not traditional straight copies of actual views. Often they are a mixture of views and images that have caught my eye or stayed with me afterwards. All seek to convey a sense of the place I encountered - what that means to me. I hope some of that sense of place comes over to the viewer.
When not painting landscapes I enjoy drawing and painting portraits. Included in the exhibition are a few examples of my work to demonstrate my range of styles. I do work on commissions - please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more and to discuss any project you are considering.
