Wendy has lived and worked in Oxford since 1972. She taught Art/Art History in local schools and retired as Deputy Head of The Cherwell in 1999. Her fascination with paint and surfaces has led her to work into the paint to create textured glazes and strong areas of modulated colour. An identifiable image is distorted through reflection and modified perspective. In the Oxford paintings she uses reflections to explore a refreshing view of this well known city. The colleges, bars and shops are juxtaposed in new combinations….derived from observation but inconsistent with time and viewpoint. Her paintings are held in many private collections and her prints are very popular. She has exhibited at The University Of Warwick and Oxford University’s Said Business School and in London at various Art Fairs (Battersea, Alexandra Palace and Chelsea).
