For 25 years Katharine House Hospice has provided an Art Room for patients.
The hospice supports people with advanced life threatening illness through to the end of their lives and believes that creative expression can be socially and therapeutically stimulating and rewarding. The Art Room at the hospice is used by up to 20 patients each week and is run by trained volunteers, each experienced in art tuition. The work produced includes water colour, acrylic and silk painting, collage and other art works. For some their art is an expression of their personal journey.
Although not made primarily to be shown, the patients and the hospice are delighted to share in Oxfordshire Art Weeks.
