The exhibition, which will be held in a listed 17th century barn on A329 just south of Moulsford, embraces not only current paintings but also selected works produced over a number of years. The pictures are mainly in oils but there are some watercolours. Whilst colour is important to me, I am particularly motivated by compositioin, tone and the structural elements in a motif. The subject matter is wide-ranging and covers landscapes in the UK, France and Morocco as well as still life, life and the clothed figure. In landscape I strive to work as much as possible in plein-air and I make annual fortnightly visits to Provence. Since I also greatly enjoy sculpture (stone carving and modelling in clay and wax) I hope to show illustrations of some pieces for interest’s sake.
