Kintsugi Workshops. 10am to 1pm, Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th May. Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold or gilt based lacquer fixative. The technique dates back to the 15th century, and the repair technique highlights the breaks and imperfections of broken ceramic ware. It has symbolic metaphorical parallels regarding the embracing of flaws and imperfections, both physical and spiritual. Please bring a broken item of pottery that you wish to repair. Each session is limited to seven participants, and will take place in the Artweeks exhibition area of Wycliffe Hall. Please sign up via the Eventbrite link below.
