David, The Mary Moser Prize winner 2022, will be sharing his wonderfully textured and tactile stone work. He explore movement and structure inspired by the natural world.
We will have originals, prints and cards, as well as smaller stone pieces to enjoy. In fact, prices to suit all pockets.
We could be the answer to all your gift needs and will certainly provide an uplift on a winter's day.
Artist information:
I specialise in illustration and portraiture. I exhibit regularly as a member of The Oxford Art Society, take part in Oxfordshire Artweeks annually.
In 2021 I was invited to become a member of the Society of Graphic Fine Arts.
I have been selected to exhibit with The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Society of Graphic Fine Arts and The Royal Society of British Artists.
I exhibit frequently in local galleries and my work is in several private collections.
I am particularly drawn to the stories hidden in our local environment of tree, copse, land and sky. I enjoy watching the slow interaction between trees and the way they settle in the landscape. Using ink and drawing media, I explore the atmosphere of this environment in all its woody detail, linking tree to sky, creating a sense of slow history. I also aim to capture the movement and character of birds and animals (often threatened species) which live in our wooded environments and skies, using both graphite and etching techniques.
I enjoy exploring the human narrative through portraiture; noting the many subtle details that characterise humanity in any given moment. Showing part of a face or an interaction creates a range of narratives and ways of seeing. I notice how the subtle ways in which we look, speak and gesture can give a range of fleeting impressions to the observer - the angle of a head, the position of a hand. Through these I tell a story to which the onlooker adds their own.
I am happy to accept commissions.
