My paintings are inspired by photographs taken in my garden and walks in the countryside. I am particularly drawn to the subtlety of colours and textures found in the detail of the natural world. Painting in a large scale enables me to explore the intricacies and beauty of organic forms .
I especially love the flowers and trees in my own garden but also in the parks and countryside which I love to visit and explore.
The paint I use is gouache, a medium I have used all my life having had a career as a commercial artist, and I am enjoying the freedom that I now have.
