I am an urban landscape painter, interested in urban and industrial landscapes, particularly areas and sites that are tucked away or hidden from us or places we pass every day but fail to notice or choose to ignore.

I enjoy the challenge of making something visually appealing and exciting from the bland and ugly areas of a city. I have drawn and painted many building sites, redundant concrete works, rubbish tips, and institutions such as Broadmoor Hospital and Bullingdon Prison. These sites, industrial wastelands, concrete structures and institutions are as much a part of our environment as anywhere else.
I am also particularly interested in factory interiors and have been commissioned by Greatmoor Energy from Waste facility in Buckinghamshire to record the building in a series of paintings. I have also painted numerous car plants, including, most recently, Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull.

Bold shapes, colours and line appeal to me and I like to extract from a chaotic scene some sense of order. I work with colour, form and texture to achieve a balance between the solid and the delicate.

My work is owned worldwide both privately and in corporate collections and is found in the public collections of Oxford University and West London Mental Health Trust. It is listed in the Public Catalogue Foundation.

I set up and am chair of the charity Time for Art, a charity that delivers art workshops to people unable to access creative activity on a regular basis.
I teach a number of classes in Oxfordshire.
