Colourful seascapes and landscapes inspired by a the rugged coastline and turquoise waters around St Ives, Cornwall. Renewable energy paintings highlighting Wind and Solar.
I am a landscape painter, working mainly in oils, from my studio in Cumnor Village. Walking inspires my art, whether it is across the local countryside, high in the mountains or along coastal paths.
Recently my work has explored the effect of climate change on the natural environment and the positive aspects of renewable energy. At the end of last year I was commissioned by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), to create a painting inspired by the offshore windfarm, Rampion, near Brighton.
An exciting boat trip out to the turbines allowed me to sketch and observe them close-up. The finished painting, 'Our Hope For Years To Come' was then taken up to Glasgow and exhibited on the GWEC stand at COP26! The painting has since been auctioned to raise money for women working in the wind industry, it was bought by Sedna Wind and is now in Vancouver, Canada.
I take part in Oxfordshire Artweeks annually and exhibit regularly in local Art Exhibitions. Last year I was shortlisted for the Royal West of England Academy Open Exhibition in Bristol and the New English Art Club Exhibition in London. I've also taken part in Zuleika Gallery’s Art from the Heart Exhibitions to raise funds for the NHS and Maggie's Oxford.
