Artform:
Ceramics
Exhibition information:
Prue Cooper’s work celebrates friendship and the sharing of simple pleasures. The warm directness of slipware, the physicality of ceramic, and the simple fact that a large dish for food automatically implies sociability and daily life, are all essential parts of the whole.
Some dishes are inscribed with quotations, and the lettering is an integral part of the design. The cast of characters in the designs also comment on life. The dishes are glazed with a food-safe honey glaze, and are dish-washer proof and gently oven proof.
Artist information:
Prue is a member of the Craft Potters’ Association, and the Artworkers Guild, where she was Master in 2014.
She exhibited at Pettits House, Great Milton several years ago and is pleased to be back!
