I am still pushing my own boundaries. So there will be plenty of new pieces for you to see - and ask lots of questions about. I'm really pleased with the new collection of steam bent wood frame pieces.
This year I am collaborating with Veronica Dudley Ceramics, we will be exhibiting at her studio in Headington for the first week (7th-15th) and here for the middle week (14th-22nd). Her ceramics are wonderfully smooth and tactile. A real treat if you haven't seen her work before, what am I saying, a real treat even if you have seen her work before!
I am a glass addict. Phew, it's out there! Though those that know me have suspected this for many years. My focus for Artweeks 40th Anniversary - can you believe it's really been 40 years! - will continue with my deeply ingrained love of flora. I am going bright, bold and beautiful. And, of course, there will be the usual one-off, spontaneous pieces that I just needed to make! On first glance, glass is a hard and unforgiving material. But used in its many forms, with varying degrees of heat manipulation, you can create intriguing results. All of my art is kiln formed, some are cast, most are fused, and all are lovingly cold worked by hand to a beautiful finish. I hope they continue to arouse your curiosity and you find the beauty worked into each and every one. Pip x ps that photo is well out of date - I have long, Covid induced hair now! I'll have to get someone to take another shot or two....
