Because of my love of printmaking and mixed media I am inspired by the imagery, especially colour, light and silhouettes that surround me.
My use of lithography creates a perfect platform on which to explore with colour and texture and to further develop my artwork. Whether walking through the local countryside or just looking at shapes and forms around me I am always driven to communicate what I see. Photography plays a big part in my work and is usually the starting point of any process.
In my workshop I like to mix traditional and contemporary techniques and while I print on an original Victorian litho press I use photographic positive plates to enable me to combine photography and painting in one image. The processes I use are an important part of my work and development as an artist.
