Artist information:
I have always liked clay, played with it as a child and learned the basics of pottery at adult education classes. When I retired and had more time, I was fortunate to join the potters' collective at the Old Forge Pottery in Eynsham. I go there at least twice a week and it gives meaning and structure to my life.
I work with stoneware clay and use throwing and coiling to make functional ware: bowls and vases. Over the last year I have begun to use slabbing to make larger pieces.
My inspiration comes from exploring the work of professional, contemporary potters, live and in books and magazines. I enjoy going to galleries and studios and wherever I can try to learn from their example.
