The paintings are a selection of abstract pieces largely based on the Oxfordshire landscape or still life. Recently I have been working in oil and cold wax. I find this a great medium for exploring layering and glazing which lends itself to my interest in the past and how it echoes in the landscape. Similarly, the watercolours I’ve recently worked on tend towards layering and abstraction of shape and form. Which ever medium I work in, I am always drawn to colour and seemingly endless colour nuances.
