After a two year Covid gap Lawrence is back at Artweeks with a fresh selection of his paintings. He is an entirely self-taught artist painting in a traditional style the landscapes and other subjects which inspire him. With so many of them arising from his love of walking he aims to recreate his experiences and invites us to pause a while and soak up the effects of light and atmosphere. Careful use of composition and draughtsmanship leads the eye into the painting, encouraging the viewer to pass beyond the frame and share the sense of time and place.
Lawrence regularly exhibits with the Oxford Art Society, and the Faringdon and Lechlade Art Societies.
The Artweeks Mill Farm site is pleasantly situated on the main A417, with ample parking space, wheelchair access and light refreshments. All are welcome.
