I have been actively interested in pottery for many years, and went to classes and on courses whenever possible. A City and Guilds was invaluable, especially when I was in a position to set up my own workshop.
My pots are stoneware, which is strong and hard-wearing. Most of them are functional, but attractive too. I am interested in shape, often basing work on the forms of English Medieval pottery. I do hundreds of glaze tests, always seeking that special irresistible glaze, and get interesting effects by using overlapping glazes.
