I will be exhibiting as part of WADAC at Cholsey Great Hall. My main focus will be on a variety of handcrafted items to include the following:
Mini Messenger Bags some featuring raw edge applique and all one of a kind each one suggested to me by the up-cycled fabrics I have used.
Unique Alcohol Inked Jewellery all handpainted and including Pendants, Earrings, Bracelets and Rings, ideal as small presents.
Miniature Alcohol Inked paintings, mounted in large mounts to give them room.
Hand Painted silk scarves in glorious colours all one off designs.
In addition to the above I will have some of my watercolour paintings on display together with cards printed from my artworks.
I love anything colourful and have always had a passion for fabrics. Lockdown saw me returning to my sewing roots and designing a compact messenger bag, made mostly from surplus fabrics and up-cycled clothing. Some of these are embellished with raw edge applique and all are a riot of colours making each one a unique statement piece.
Few things can be more vibrant than Alcohol Inks and I use these to paint minature landscapes and also to paint and make unique one of a kind pendants and earrings. These come in a riot of colours and no two items are identical.
During Lockdown I started a drawing a day on 1st January 2021 and carried on for 180 days. It was a much needed challenge and some of the artworks I produced have been professionally printed as greeting cards following suggestions from my friends and followers.
Recently I have started doing some workshops to introduce others to the joy of painting on silk. Once the brush touches the silk the colours flow and merge seeming to have a life of their own and it such fun to share this magic with others. Maybe you will join me on one and become hooked like me.
