The exhibition is an eclectic mix using mixed media, from sanitary materials to hair, water colour, found objects and hand made inks.
Artist Statement
Trained as a conceptual artist I work with mixed media, photography, print making, painting, drawing, creating sculptures and installations.
Passionate about the transformative and healing nature of art I graduated from Goldsmiths University with an M.A. in Art Psychotherapy and now work as an Art Psychotherapist with children and young adults.
My art practice is integral to processing my emotional, physical and spiritual response to my work as an art psychotherapist. Never fixed, my art practice continually evolves.
Particularly interested in working with found objects I am compelled to gather the broken, discarded, the lost ,exploring why these objects, resonate and call me, creatively repurposing them.
Exploring the alchemical nature of paint pigments and homemade inks my studio( until recently my kitchen ) which has become a chemist`s lab, developing ink recipes and paint pigments from berries, flowers, seaweed and vegetables, grinding minerals, mixing, measuring and experimenting.
Recently I have moved into a studio in Ayres House, becoming part of a rich and diverse artist community, embedded within the local community of Wallingford. Ayers House offers workshops, exhibition space, makers markets and affordable studio space for local artists.
Excited to be exhibiting for the first time in the Oxfordshire Art week my studio will be open 14th,15th, 19th,21, and 22nd May.
