A lot of the work here has been done during lockdown and after when the computer opened up other worlds to artists. Here I discovered a world of newly trained experimental fashion designers through an online drawing opportunity called Drawing Cabaret Couture. Colour is really important here and it is a playful attempt to bring an element of theatre into a rather drab world.
The black drawings were done after a spell of drawing dance and I am abstracting the experience through monoprint and graphite drawings.
My training was undertaken through evening classes initially and then Foundation at Oxford Brookes (1991-2) and B.A. at Cheltenham College of Art (1992-5) and then M.A. at Oxford Brookes 2012-15.
Since then I have worked in various media - woodcut, oils, watercolour, and here I celebrate a freedom to mix media.
