My work is on display in the Victorian two storey building at the end of my garden, accessible via the alleyway in Cross St so totally separate from the house. I've gradually moved towards a mixed media way of working. Over the last year I've collected a lot of old books, these have become the inspiration for the work you'll see during Artweeks. I like to mix the old cloth covers and the yellowing pages with my painted and printed papers -the work sort of evolves organically and I take inspiration from the music I'm listening to and more recently my trip to the Arctic ,where the sun didn't rise and everything was pink, blue, shades of white and the world had no hard edges. It was a life changing trip and I feel so lucky to have experienced so much in such a short time.
Downstairs in my studio you will be greeted by a selection of mannequins, vintage toys, tiny objects of joy and a 3D printed version of mini me which some might find disturbing!
I'm 50, I've always painted, I love being in my studio!
