I will be showing pieces both for the garden and house. For the garden I will have some plant stakes with dancers/birds/fish/hares and an aluminium seated cat and owl - these look great positioned in flower beds, also some aluminium birds that hang from trees and glitter in the sun. For inside I have been working on fish, birds and trees this last year having fun developing techniques to make the pieces different and interesting.
I love the medium of metal, cutting, shaping, colouring and marking it to produce both abstract and realistic images. I work in copper, brass and aluminium. Some of my work is made for the garden and weathers well, summer and winter. Aluminium in particular reflects light with copper and copper verdigris being more subtle. I also create for the home and aim to mount the metal pieces on reclaimed wood or stone to make unique objects. Recently I have gone back to making images from discarded brass or copper - the latest being my funky birds.
I am currently exhibiting in the Turrill Sculpture Garden in Summertown.
