Artform:
Ceramics, Sculpture
Exhibition information:
I see myself as producing sculpture in three different styles: relatively traditional human figures and portrait heads, abstract works inspired by natural forms, and more abstracted representational work.
I enjoy the challenge of trying to find a likeness to the subject in my more traditional work, but I am also pulled towards the freedom of abstraction.
I work in clay which is fired and then finished in wax, glaze, or coloured patina.
This is the first year I am taking part in Oxford Art Weeks. I am showing my work in my home studio and garden, along with the mixed media works of my neighbour Polly Woolstone.
