Hello everyone and thank you for exploring me! I am an Environmental Artist & Printmaker. I will be exhibiting pieces at the Oxford Printmakers Coop on Tyndale Road. An art based printmakers haven which has been estabished for over 20 years showing some of Oxfordshires best Printmakers work, I am proud to now be amongst them, but very much a novice. I will also be showing other works at my local arts group, New Hinksey Arts. This up and coming arts group is based in the South Oxford Community Centre. Many local residents will be showing a range of work there from prints, and life art, to textiles and ceramics. With a cafe during opening hours and the beautiful park its definately a place to come and enjoy the art of talented local residents and the peace of the park.
My early days of art were overshadowed by needing to earn reguarly so trained and worked in the science and renewable technologies area whilst trying to produce what art I could. Now the paid environmental work has taken a back seat whilst the art work based on my love of the environment is coming to the fore. I love to bring my art to the street and make window displays on my front window in Marlborough Road to raise information of the changing of the seasons, Equinox, Solstices, and other cultural celebrations such as May Morning (Beltane), Chinese Lunar New Year, Holi and many more excuses to decorate and inform. I found a love of printmaking again and the depth of colour of the inks I use, collage and cyanotype. Nature as my muse I try to bring the colour and the simplicity to the fore, which again can be seen in my cyanotype, using natural materials and the sun to develop the image.
Do please come and see my art like a tree within a forest of talent and creativity theres so much for everyone. with warmest wishes to you... Annie B
