I will be selling pictures, scarves and some larger wraps. Many of the pictures are based on photos or paintings of the Isles of Scilly. Some are woven with hand-spun silk inlaid on linen and some from wool. I dye the silk before spinning it and also dye some of the wool. Some of my scarves are woven on warps which I have Ikat dyed. They are woven from silk, wool and sometimes a mixture of both. I also accept commissions to weave rugs and will have some examples on show.
I will be demonstrating and letting people have a go from 11am to 2pm on 14th, 15th, 18th and 19th and from 2pm to 5pm on the 20th.
I enjoy weaving pictures based on seascapes and landscapes. I also like weaving scarves and experimenting with some of the many possibilities with this amazing craft.
I teach at Ardington School of Crafts and at my home in East Hendred. Teaching weaving is very rewarding because of interesting results beginners achieve. I am also intrigued by the colour choices people make.
