Digital prints on vellum as variable, non-linear series, string and thread, Rosa branch(s)
This series developed to become a flexible, dynamic, unbound, fragmented archival series.
The contents are variable but are sourced from a portfolio of drawings, paintings, collage and photographs (Dwell residency at CouCou studios - Autumn 2019 and continuing through 2020/21) and past works.
When I started my Dwell Residency I was looking for a space of retreat where, through making, I could reflect on a change of direction – a pivot point - looking to future possibilities from a base of recorded pasts.
As Covid came closer, my home became a place of refuge; of silence and solitude.
Surrounded by unread books, the slow turning of pages and stories within them were my comfort.
I made no art - work but watched my garden grow – a living link to the botanical aspects of my practices.
Late in 2020 I joined the CREiA group and through the digital companionship and support of fellow artists Clare Carswell , Peta Lloyd, Annie Rapstoff, Ines Amando –Harris, and Paula Roush felt able to re-engage with making and develop this initial series of folios.
I am an artist based in North Oxfordshire. My work explores how personal and collective experiences are recorded and transmitted.
