Ayres House Studios – Garden --------- Interactive Sculptural Installation
Ayres House Studios – Gallery --------- Sculptures
Ayres House Studios – Studio One --- Open
I make sculpture.
I make sculpture from found objects such as a piece of stone, or wood or metal, that spoke to me on our first encounter. Reimagined and carved or cut, reshaped or revived to reveal a beauty that spoke to me on my first experience of the piece. This year I have made an interactive sculpture in the gardens of Ayres House Studios.
I make sculpture from clay, fired in a kiln then smoke-fired or finished in a combination of smoke, glaze and oils.
I make sculpture in a fibreglass-resin mixture, selecting and adding pigments as I go, enjoying abstract painting in all three dimensions at once.
I make sculpture in water-based or oil-based clay, making a mould and casting the negative in resin to get back to the positive. I paint the surfaces in oils.
I make sculpture with my body, through dance and performance with or without an audience.
I make sculpture with other peoples’ bodies choreographing movement & sounds into form.
I make sculpture with film projection and moving people to form a dynamic whole.
I make sculpture, I draw, and I paint.”
