The work I do is a result of my inner need to develop, to constantly search for myself, to confront
myself and the world, and also a way of dealing with the difficulties of life. I am inspired by the
everyday life of the people I meet and by the images they capture somewhere en passant.
The youthful search in the area of analogue photography, which I temporarily abandoned,
is constantly breaking through in my works. They can be seen in framing, in contrast, in search
of black or texture. Photography, however, was no longer enough in itself, becoming the starting
point for further actions. Over time, it became clear that the characteristic feature of my work
was the process, but it was not understood as a recurring issue, but as an inseparable method
of work. In my works I use various techniques and materials. Everything depends on a given
project, its specificity, or simply my inner need. That's why I'm far from categorising or drawing.
Due to the variety of techniques used, I identify myself more with interdisciplinary artists than
with one single artistic discipline. What I am, you can read best from my artistic and social
activities. If I undertake something, I get involved with it myself.
SECOND LIFE - GLASS LAMPS
The concept of my present art is based on obtaining recycled materials (for example: glass from
bottles, vases, etc.) and creating something new, in this case lamps. My goal is to create
something completely new based on the available materials, I give them a second life in a new
form, in a new home. The lamp is crafted by individual pieces of hand-polished slides of glass which
are wire-fastened and glued with adhesive. To create an impressive shade with lots of character,
no two pieces of glass are the same. The specificity of lamp is that it looks different in the day
time and differently at night. Used red (or green, yellow, purple, blue, white) LED lights
illuminating green glass provide amazing effects, especially seen in the shadows. The lamp is
equipped with a long cable with rocker switch on / off, with the option to disconnect the standard
wall plug and use the USB port to connect laptop or powerbank.
Glass pictures are the next step in the art of recycling.
I am a graduate of the University of Zielona Góra in Poland, where I completed two master's
degree in the following fields: Animation of Culture and Visual Arts (at that time: Artistic
Education in the Fine Arts Sector).
I completed my artistic diploma (2016) in the Drawing and Interdisciplinary
Studio (ISW UZ) under the direction of prof. Radosław Czarkowski. Then I started my
doctorate studies at the Faculty of Humanities in the field of History. After I gave up my
third-level studies after the first year, I appreciate the experience I gained there. First of all,
I had the opportunity to teach Film History and Art History, i. e. the subjects that coincided
with my interests. It is also worth mentioning that the subject of my doctoral
thesis was closely related to art : “Carnality aesthetics based on the
works of 20th and 21st century artists”. I have been living and working in Oxford for more than
four years now.
