My exhibition of approximately 40 watercolour paintings, large and small, will take place in 4 adjoining rooms in my house. These rooms will be well ventilated, and will allow plenty of space for social distancing. In addition, we will have a gazebo outside in our lovely garden, for the sale of unframed paintings, and a large selection of cards.
So, come and relax and be sociable in the garden - and enjoy the paintings!

My art career has developed over the years from a series of happy accidents. Without any formal training, I worked for 20 years as a freelance botanical illustrator, preparing pen and ink drawings for botanical textbooks. Then, in 1980, I began to paint seriously. I have always liked the translucency of watercolour, and my love of plants naturally led me to choose these as my favourite subjects.
Since then, I have held over 40 solo exhibitions in England, as well as some in France, Switzerland, and the USA. As a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists, I participate regularly in their annual exhibitions in London. I have lived in Eynsham for over 50 years, and have held Artweeks exhibitions here since 1985.
I am very fortunate in having a large garden, where I can indulge my passion for plant collecting, and cultivate many of the plants that I wish to paint - vegetables, ferns, and leaves, as well as flowers. I also enjoy painting local landscapes.
Georgia O’Keeffe, a painter whose work I admire enormously, once wrote “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else”. That says it all!
