This year my exhibition will be on-line. If things improve radically we may open the workshops at Edith Road using an appointments system, but it is not possible to distance more than one group of people at a time.
My photography is of the natural world, showing its beauty rather rather than its downsides. This year I've collated sea horizons from many years and put them together.

I have written several flipbooks. The Artweeks 2021 one is at www.gordonstokes.co.uk/artwbook21/artwbook21.html
I have been taking and printing landscape photographs since age 13. My style has changed many times over the years, ranging from black and white photography, close up details of the ground and vegetation, and more minimalist landscapes and seascapes.
My inspiration has always come from land, sea and sky, but the composition and style has always been influenced by impressionist and abstracted paintings rather than other photography. The images are simple in composition but convey the feeling of the place they were taken, often by framing multiple prints together. They all aim to show the beauty of the natural world and the great outdoors.
I have combined photography with a career in research, including working for the Countryside Agency. I am currently a research associate with the University of Oxford.
