I am incredibly lucky to have my own workshop.
A sanctuary where I can lose myself with my thoughts, and let my creative juices flow!
Over the lockdown period I have indulged in some "slow time", following a practice of working with different clays, getting as much satisfaction in the process as in the outcome.
During this time I worked with the coil technique-creating large statement pieces with which I explored different shapes and textures.
These didn't all come out how I expected, but as with life, there is so much to learn.
I have also been making large dishes and platters which can be used for meals and table displays-monochrome decoration, allowing food and fruit to shine, but also making a statement.
With these pots I have been trying to adopt a technique of freehand mark-making, whereby I empty my mind and then just let my brushstrokes flow.
My studio will be open during Oxfordshire Artweeks from Saturday 1st May -Monday 3rd May, and then again on Friday 7th May-Sunday 9th May
We live down a lane in the canal-side village of Lower Heyford.........an idyllic location, opposite the church, and with access to wonderful countryside walks.
It will be lovely to meet all you art lovers and exchange ideas.
Please remember to bring your masks....I have hand sanitiser and will be keeping all the doors and windows open.
Let's hope for good weather!
