The work I’m showing this year features mainly florals which are heavily influenced by the fantastic weather we had last spring and summer. My garden had never looked so abundant. I couldn’t resist capturing the carnival of colours and joy it brought me. I love colour and texture and find I’m often inspired by colour combinations found in nature.
I am delighted to be exhibiting in Oxford Art Weeks 2021 as I feel it’s a perfect way to celebrate us emerging from Lockdown. I am so happy to be showing my work once again at West Ox Arts Gallery, Bampton, along with a fantastic group of other artists. I hope you can come along!
You can see a video of me at work in my studio at https://fayeknight.art/about.html.
I started painting in 2018 and this is my third year of taking part. I mainly work with acrylics and palette knives to keep my work loose and bold but I have started to dip into oils and mixed media over the past few months. It will be interesting/exciting to see where this may take my future work! I paint at home in my studio, which is a large, light filled area in the roof space of our barn. It has become my creative haven, a sanctuary from all the recent uncertainties. A place to play and experiment with new ideas and techniques
