Sculpture for home and garden in stone. From statement pieces for the formal garden to smaller, informal pieces for any border, to tiny tactile treasures for the home, all taking an inspiration from nature. I often try to give a sense of movement in my pieces and am fascinated by how this is achieved in such a very solid medium.
Exhibiting jointly with Sue Side in a glorious garden and studio in Cumnor, Oxford.
I also teach sculpture day classes - contact for details.
David lives in West Oxfordshire and teaches an eclectic mixture of subjects in an Oxford School. He carves, sculpts and letter-cuts in stone in his spare time. His work has been exhibited widely across the region and is in private collections throughout the UK.
Whilst the scale of his work varies enormously, David's pieces always resonate with nature and are tactile and touchable, begging to be stroked. All are hand carved and all are totally individual.
David's work featured in the NHS Portraits for Heroes book, as did his image because of his service as a volunteer blood biker.
