My work is to be shown in CU CUCINE, 36 Couching Street, Watlington, OX49 5QQ by kind permission of Stephen and Maria.
There will also be lots of glass in the garden of Wynd House, 27A Couching St, Watlington, OX49 5QF where you will be welcome to relax in the garden and enjoy the glass in the gazebo. Wynd House is at the end down the alley opposite CU CUCINE.
I was lucky enough to find a Glass degree in High Wycombe starting in 1994. This gave me an overview of the ways in which glass can be worked, and provided the facilities to experiment.
Once my workshop was more or less finished, I started exploring and have continued to do so for more than twenty years.
It is the qualities of the glass that have led me forward, first of all its affinity with water, and more recently, with ice. A body of work named 'Meltwater' has included both blowing and casting - and of course references to our disastrous climate warming.
In my workshop you will find various other ideas that I have explored, such as the lost vegetable casting process, and solid glass 'apples', called 'Temptation', that can hung outside.
I hope you will enjoy Watlington Art Weeks.
